PromptScore is a Chrome extension that scores your AI prompts in real-time and helps you write better prompts for tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.
Data Collection
PromptScore does not collect any personal data or user content. We do not collect:
- Your prompts or any text you type
- Your name, email, or any personal information
- Your browsing history or activity
- Your IP address or location
- Any analytics or usage tracking data
What Is Stored Locally
The extension stores a small amount of data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage. This data never leaves your browser:
- Enabled/disabled preference — whether you have turned the extension on or off
- Numeric scores only — the score numbers from your most recent prompt evaluation (e.g., clarity: 7, specificity: 5). No prompt text is ever stored.
- Prompt counter — a simple count of how many prompts you have scored
You can clear this data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome.
No External Connections
PromptScore makes zero network requests. The scoring engine runs entirely within your browser. There is no server, no API, no cloud component. Your prompts are evaluated locally and the results stay on your device.
No Tracking
We do not use cookies, analytics services (such as Google Analytics), pixel trackers, or any other form of user tracking. We have no way to identify you or monitor your usage.
Third-Party Services
PromptScore does not integrate with any third-party services. We do not share data with anyone because we do not have any data to share.
Permissions Explained
PromptScore requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:
- Storage — to save your enabled/disabled preference and numeric scores locally on your device
- Content script access on specific sites — to detect the prompt input field on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity so we can display your score. We only run on these specific sites, not on all websites.
Children's Privacy
PromptScore does not collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected, there is no risk to children's privacy.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change our data practices in a future version, we will update this privacy policy and note the changes here. Since PromptScore collects no data, we do not anticipate any significant changes.
